Professional Art Packing and Shipping Services in New York

Buying a fine art piece or antique is an exciting experience, but it’s important to remember that shipping or delivering it to your home, office, or private gallery is also a critical step in the process. But before being shipped 9 out of 10 artworks must be properly packed.

The safety of your artwork depends almost entirely on how it is packed and handled. While it is nearly impossible to control how your artwork is handled in transit (especially if you use large carriers like FedEx or UPS), you are still in full control of how your artwork is packaged.

Hundreds of art items have been packed, shipped, and delivered by us. We offer high-quality art packing services aimed to protect your artwork during storage, local or interstate moves, or international shipping.

We use only proven materials to ensure that your artwork is safe and secure, no matter the circumstances.

Art Packing is a delicate process that requires careful attention to detail and professional knowledge about the item’s weaknesses, where potential breaks, cracks, and other damage can occur and require more attention during art packing. Also, it’s good to keep in mind that some artworks can be left packed for long periods of time, for example, in storage during construction or renovation projects in private homes, or be kept in galleries, or auction houses. The quality of art packing and the selection of the right packing materials play a crucial role in the safety of any artwork during transportation and storage.

The type of packaging depends on many factors, but the main ones are the value of the artwork, its fragility, and how it will be transported.

A painting you may bring home from a gallery in the back of your car may not be packed at all (which is actually a bad idea). The same painting being delivered by a major shipping company should be packed in a wooden crate or, at the least a double cardboard box, and protected by foam inserts.

How does it work?

Well, it’s pretty simple, there are a few steps below that you need to follow to get your art packing quote.
It’s better to do it in a specific order, for example:
  • – 1 painting 48″ x 48″ x 3″, framed canvas, 10lb, plexiglass
  • – 2 paintings 25″ x 32″, framed, glass, 5lb
  • – 1 statue, 30″ toll,  15×40″, clay, 30lb
  • All items will be moved interstate by moving company.

It would also be great if you could upload photos of the items and add any details you think are important for us to know.

We usually do packing at your location, but it is also possible for artwork to be just pre-packed and then brought to our warehouse for final packing and shipping.

There is no guarantee that we will be able to come on that day/time, but we will do our best to work with you to find the best possible time.

Sometimes due to a workload or weekend, our response may take longer. You can always call or text as well.

Enjoy your piece of art being packed and ready to move!

If you are satisfied with the work done, please consider tipping the art handlers(s). 15-18% of the bill would be the perfect amount.
